With the increasing trend of international marriages, the issue of wrongful removal of the child abroad by one parent following the dissolution of families has emerged as a pressing concern of the international community. The Hague Conference on Private International Law enacted the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction (the ‘Convention’) in 1980, and the Republic of Korea, which joined the Convention in 2012, also enacted and implemented the Act on the Implementation of the Hague Child Abduction Convention (the ‘Act’). The Ministry of Justice, designated as a central authority pursuant to the Act, requested the Korean Bar Association('KBA') to draw up a list of lawyers related to Child Abduction in order to provide legal aid such as legal representation, etc. at the request of an applicant or a foreign central authority. The following is a list of lawyers in Korea whose area of expertise in Family Law and who can assist in English for a legal proceeding. |
